Scooting part 2

Here's another project that sat in my queue for too long.

My mortgage guy wanted a drawing from me since I am so amazing and famous (ha). Wasn't sure what I should draw for a straight guy who doesn't really read comic books, so I made a variant of my scooter drawing for him.

Here, I have tomboy Debbie whizzing along with her male companion. Her leg looks a little Fd up, but whatevs.

Which do you prefer? the original or this redux?

Young Samson and Goliath

I've been combing through old sketchbooks looking for travel sketches and couldn't resist scanning this old gem. It's "Young Samson" from the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Take a guy who looks like a college wrestler in a tight shirt and tight pants, send him roaming around the country on his scooter with his lapdog looking for trouble.

When he finds said trouble, he connects his leather wristbands to transform into a bodybuilder in a skimpy outfit and a bob.

When his super-strength isn't enough to save the day, another connection of the leather wristbands transforms his dog into a lion that can shoot laser beams from his eyes.

Nice.

Scooting

I drew this during my booksigning in Lyon. They are characters from a short story that I have in my head, which, someday, will be drawn, combined with some other short stories I have in my head along with my solo portions of YBIL that I wish to reprint. I will probably use this image in some form or another as the cover to the anthology.

This story is kind of a quirky odd couple ditty...one fellow is kinda retro (he likes scooters) and the other is a little old fashioned (he likes Mozart).

I was particularly proud of the Vespa here. I merely glanced at some photo references and did a quick sketch in my PM. And this is the masterpiece that ensued.

I happy to part with the line art (9"x12") for $50. :-P
