Divine Dawn

When I was in DC for SPX some weeks back, I stayed with my friends Ryan and Mark. Ryan is a huge John Waters fan (I like John Waters, but Ryan is maybe 5x the fan I am), and took the opportunity to haul out DVDs and clips that I am guessing Mark doesn't appreciate.

Most of the quotes flying and scenes viewed were from Female Trouble, starring Divine as Dawn Davenport: "Nice girls don't wear cha-cha heels!" "Not on Christmas... not on Christmas..." There are so many great lines—what's your favorite?

But here are two drawings of Divine as Dawn. The blue lines on the left are a bit light and I should ink it. I like the effect of the inked drawing over the blue lines to the right... makes her look like she has eyeshadow on.

Well, I'm a fan of Desperate Living, myself, and my favorite lines are "I'm not your maid anymore, I killed your husband, we're partners in crime."

"Get it, Peggy, get it!"

"Look at all these trees, stealing our oxygen, don't us tax payers have rights?"

I never remeber lines from movies. Last year, I saw the first 5 John Waters movies and discovered Divine. I remeber being offended when Divine as a mother is doing a blowjob to her son. Oh,and the scene with the poor chicken being queased and killed beetween the 2 bodies making love. A chicken snuff movie?:p
Of, and of course, I was digusted by Eddie and her egg obsession.

I've done everything a mother can do... I've locked her in her room, I've beat her with the car aerial. Nothing changes her. It's hard being a loving mother!

I love John Waters' films and it's so hard to pick one that is my fav. I love Desperate Living too. I also love Polyester too. Here's a few quotes. "I never wanted to use macramé to kill!" or "Gee, Francine! You're the most drinkin'est gal I know!" or finally "At first I thought he was walking his dog. Then I realized, it was his date."

Love his movies.

I did not know you had such a fondness for John Waters Movies! We will have to watch some the next time you stay with us.

X: You're supposed to be offended! :-)

T: I've not seen all of DESPERATE LIVING (just the intro) so we can watch that.
