Burrito boy

I noticed a cute fellow waiting for the subway this morning, and he was eagerly eating a burrito. We ended up sitting across from one another, so I started to sketch first how he was holding the burrito, then the folds of cloth in his jacket and jeans. I was trying to note shadows, the shine of light on his shoes, and the salt stains on one of his pant legs. Then I very quickly drew his face as I neared my stop. He asked if he could see the sketch; I showed him and thanked him for being a willing subject. We'll leave it at that.

Oh my god ! Burrito so early ! I have a bad memory about a burrito during my 2003 United States' trip. My best friend bought a burrito in a gas station in Napa Valley. She was sick all the trip to the evening stop and tryed not to vomish it in the locative car ! Beurk, since that, I hate burritos... Olé !

EW! Eating on public transportation is one of the MOST DISGUSTING things a human can do.

aww... I'm sure he was in a hurry... AND it's Boston not NYC AND it wasn't rush hour so he didn't have to touch the subway AND he was cute... makes up for a lot...

Fine fine I was harsh... sort of.

But if you two get married I will always secretly judge him (and you).

What is eating in the subway an outrage in USA?
At least, make an exception for cakes!

Well... the subway is not often the cleanest place ever... especially in NYC or maybe the blue line. But I live off the red line, so it's not so bad. In DC, you're not allowed to eat or drink on the subway at all!

Re: Tim's comment about DC.

My friends and i were Hella Drunk in DC and got on to the train with a box of Donuts that we then offered to everyone one the train and everyone was shying away from them... none of us understood why. If it was cause we were drunk strangers with donuts or some other reason. it was then explained to us, that they will arrest black people for having food on the DC subways.... Not the whites just the blacks. As New Yorkers we laughed at their silly racial profiling and continued eating. Racial profiling is SO Delaware.

Hrm... perhaps they don't arrest the whites, but I did see the subway cops make a white lady in business attire throw her candy bar out before she passed through the electric turnstile.
